Mega corporations and billionaires are hoarding wealth, exploiting workers, and harming our climate for their profits. They profit, we pay. Among them, the fossil fuel industry, is raking in obscene profits while destroying our planet and future. Now, the looming trade war with the U.S. makes our reliance on corporations, especially the oil and gas sector, a ticking time bomb.
All of us are fed up with this rollercoaster ride. It’s time to take our future into our own hands with a Green New Deal that protects workers in the face of economic shocks, strengthens local economies, follows Indigenous leadership, and reduces our exposure to both fossil fuel volatility and U.S. economic bullying. If we tax billionaires and Canada’s largest, price-gouging corporations, we can fund a future that works for all of us.
It’s time for political leaders to choose people over corporations and deliver a Green New Deal for a Resilient Canada.
Our Demands
BUILD HOMES FOR PEOPLE, NOT PROFIT:
- Expand public, zero-carbon housing nationwide, ensuring everyone has access to a safe, affordable home.
- Retrofit existing homes and deliver universal free heat pumps to slash energy costs and fight climate change.
DELIVER CHEAPER, CLEANER ENERGY:
- Expand a national electricity grid powered by affordable and reliable renewable electricity.
- Phase out fossil fuels and scale up domestic manufacturing of wind, solar, and battery technology.
- Participate in the international energy transition by contributing to a Global Justice Fund.
INVEST IN SAFE, HEALTHY COMMUNITIES:
- Massively invest in healthcare, education, childcare, public transit, and social services to improve quality of life and strengthen our domestic economy.
- Invest in worker-led and community-owned co-operative organizations that build thriving local economies.
- Provide direct support to workers and families hit hardest by job losses and an economic downturn, ensuring no one is left behind.
CREATE MILLIONS OF GOOD JOBS:
- Launch a federal Green Jobs Program and a Youth Climate Corps.
- Invest in tuition-free post-secondary education and vocational programs training a new generation of workers for green jobs.
- Ensure permanent residency for all so that everyone can contribute to building a better future.
RESPECT INDIGENOUS RIGHTS AND SOVEREIGNTY:
- Reduce reliance on fossil fuels and invest in green industries to shift toward a sustainable economic model that respects Indigenous rights.
- Centre Indigenous knowledge and leadership in all climate and economic solutions.
- Ensure free, prior, and informed consent for green energy projects and restore land to Indigenous stewardship.
TAX THEIR BILLIONS AND FUND A FUTURE FOR ALL OF US:

- Impose taxes that force U.S. oil and gas companies to absorb the cost of potential tariffs.
- Introduce a wealth tax on individuals with net wealth over $10 million and shut down loopholes that let the ultra-wealthy dodge their responsibilities.
- Raise the corporate income tax rate and implement an excess profits tax on large corporations, like oil and gas companies.
